Interconnect Defined:

In 1988, the nation’s leading telecommunications and cable companies joined together to create Adlink, the first cable interconnect system. With a diversity of demographics spread over thousands of square miles within one region, traditional spot buying had become inefficient and a waste of advertisers’ money. By collaborating and creating one entity for LA, Adlink streamlined the media buying process into a one buy, one tape, and one invoice transaction.

Adlink is the answer to the challenge of audience fragmentation in Los Angeles, while allowing advertisers to reach 100% of the Los Angeles cable market.

Adlink Sets The Standards:

Adlink airs 100,000 commercials a day on 44 top rated networks such as: ESPN, Discovery Channel, MTV, Nick and TNT.

Adlink’s 70+ cable systems are linked by 4,000 miles of IP/ATM network, covering an area of more than 22,000 square miles.

Adlink was the first interconnect to adopt the use of the MPEG2 digital video standard, making it compatible with all current and future video use.

Adlink is the first market-wide interconnect to use video file servers that can each support over 44 networks simultaneously.

Adlink is involved first-hand in the next level of technology with the development of digital program insertion (DPI).
